Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows in M-60 and M-56
The Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint is one of those products that you never knew you needed it until you tried it. The formula claims to be a versatile, ultra pigmented and waterproof cream shadow and the range features a variety of colours from basics like black and white to fun ones like yellow and pink. The range also features three different finishes: matte, lustruous and iridescent. The formula claims to be waterpoof, smooth and easy to work with thanks to a combination of silicone resin, polymer and oil and micro spheres that help provide a smooth, lightweight texture.
I have tested and wore both colors as a liner, shadow, base and eyebrow gel. The cream formula is pigmented and very easy to work with. It layers beautifully and can be build up to help intensify the color. What I like about this formula is that the gel is pigmented but it’s not over the top which means that even a non-pro such as myself can use this and not be terrified that I need to work fast and be a total expert at blending a cream shadow (which terrifies me). The formula is more forgiving and layers really well. I personally like using the product to help set a base for a darker, smokier eye look and like to follow up with a powder eyeshadow to help refine the edges and make everything look a bit more polished. I can also see a dramatic, smoked out cat eye in my future using just this shadow alone so stay tuned for that.
I really like using this product as a liner on days I don’t want to fuss too much over my make-up, it does not budge and has survived numerous intense workouts ad sweat sessions. The best part about it is that can apply it over a bar eye primed with a light dusting of a setting powder and go right in with the Color Paint. I also love using the M-56 shade to fill in my brows… again, the formula does not budge no matter what I do and the gel also sets my eyebrow hairs giving me those model brows with the hairs all perfectly combed up. Very chic.
I am dying to get my hands on some of the iridescent finishes, just imagine patting them down over a shadow or a matte lip as a pop of light and color.
